I had an older emachines with an unlocked BIOS, and I'm used to having a little control of FSB, memory clocks, and sometimes the multiplier (which would be awesome on this rig). Keep up the good work guys. I would greatly appreciate any help on this one. Thanks Lecky. I successfully flashed my BIOS to the HP MCP61PM-HM (Nettle3) modded ROM image (61M27604.ROM), but there were actually less options available... Even though the HT BUS was unlocked and the DRAM Frequency was also unlocked (No voltage, FSB, or Multiplier settings were available): All the settings were less than stock for the emachines OEM BIOS I had previously (P01-A2L). For instance the DRAM Frequency was unlocked, but only allowed up to a maximum of 400MHz, which is what it was already running at. Same goes for the HT BUS, (400MHz). My memory actually runs at 800MHz stock. Please let me know if there is any progress with the ROM image I supplied, or any similar ROM's for the MCP61PM-GM board... For anyone looking to use the modded BIOS: I needed to use AFUDOS with the /X flag, because AWDFLASH.EXE was complaining, "Binary File is not Aware BIOS!" mcurran I NEED A P150HM NOW! | |||

| RE: emachines ET1331G | P01-A2L Sorry to BUMP an old thread, but I just wanted to mention a couple things. My motherboard is a MCP61PM-GM 2.4, and I was just upgrading my neighbors machine, which has the proper Nettle2 board (MCP61PM-HM 1). I was amazed to see all the FSB, RAM timing, and other goodies available. Point is, I was thinking of swapping out the boards for one another, but I have no thermal grease. So I can either swap my AMD Athlon II X2 220 for a AMD Athlon 64 x2 5000+ along with the board and have all the unlocked options, but I'm pretty sure my 220 is a much more powerful CPU. Does anybody have any suggestions? mcurran I NEED A P150HM NOW! | |||
