HP Disabled Whitelist Mega Thread!
[/quote]

hello,

Originally developed at mydigitallife Forum

Here is a method for completely removing the WLAN/WWAN whitelists check on this HP TM 2 1010ea:
for free.

Prerequisites:
- An hexadecimal editor like HxD
- MDL Andy's tool Latest version

1- Extract sp49449.exe, then extract WinFlash.exe
2- Open 3661F09.fd with Andy's tool
3- Once decompress, select "other" in manufacturer
4- At advanced choose: 'no SLIC' and 'Allow user to modify other modules' press done
5- Press GO and wait until the tool pauses and show popup (Don't press OK at this time).
6- In DUMP folder, edit the module 2D7F5042-32FE-4666-A04F-48AF6853D175_2_679.ROM, search the hexadecimal string 0F 85 81 00 00 00 and replace 0F 85 by 90 E9,save the modification.
7- In DUMP folder, edit the module 7FA4AE0A-1404-4DCC-BE28-CE58029CF5D1_2_674.ROM, search the hexadecimal string 0F 85 81 00 00 00 and replace 0F 85 by 90 E9,save the modification.
8- Press OK on Andy's tool popup
The Andy's tool will notice about changes that were made and will reintegrate the module.

9- replace 3661F09.fd by the newly created 3661F09_SLIC.bin (rename it 3661F09.fd)
10- Flash using InsydeFlash.exe

et voila
edit1: for others machines the name of the module and the string to replace can be different.

Hello everyone.

I've been trying to use the above method to remove the whitelist from my bios/allow my new card to be used. I can get as far as opening the dump folder but I cannot find the proper module to open. I assume this if different per bios/card etc. can anyone provide the proper module and/or a whitelist removed bios?

very much thanks!!

I'm having a hard time figuring this out here. I have an hp pavilion dm3-1030us with Atheros AR5009. It [Atheros] sucks. It doesn't connect to my router half the time.

That's HP's page for the BIOS, F28 A.

Do I remove the whitelist entirely or edit some references?

I have: Atheros AR5009
Replacing with: Intel 6200

Went fishing for my bootable USB drive, only to notice it was a WinFlash kinda utility. I haven't installed the new card yet but that laptop still boots with the new BIOS! Thanks!!! Will be back once the card is in with a donation.

I believe the bios is working properly. Flashed without an issue and booted right up with the new card installed. Though now I'm having an issue with the card not being able to start Sad but I don't think it's an issue with the bios.

EDIT: seems it was a resource conflict and resolved itself after a few restarts/reseating the card/antennas. Bios working well. Thank you Smile

Have you already tried a natively unsuported card? Did the whitelist removal be efective?
