[Removed] Whitelist removal request for HP DV6009tx
#1
Id like to request a whitelist for my:

HP Pavilion DV6009tx laptop

Bios Version: F.1A (22 Jul 2011)

Bios download link
F.1A Bios

its currently running an Intel WiFi link 1000 but im trying to use a Intel Advanced N 6200 card which shows up as not supported during bios boot up. Anyway to removal the whitelist in whole?

Thanks!

hmm, is the bios F.1A not popular or something? seems like people across dif forums is not modding this BIOS for the whitelist removal.
saw the file in ur folder Camilo thanks! but does that file include the unlock menu too? because i saw in another thread that the unlock menu will cause black screen after resetting it. is it possible for you to make a simple no whitelist bios only? as i dont really need the unlock menu. thanks Camilo!

i've tested the file you posted camilo, when booting into windows with original wireless card everything is fine except the wirless wouldn't turn on even after i press the hotkey to turn it on. then i put in the new advanced N card which boot into windows and drivers installed fine too but the hotkey is not working so i cant turn wireless on.

i tried going into bios to see if anything was changed but seems like the unlocked menu issue gave me the black screen after exiting it. had to remove the cmos battery to make the laptop boot again. Can u just make a whitelist removal bios from the original and not have any unlock bios setting? thanks!

This sigcheck RSA protected bioses suffer from this black screen issue, the only way (i guess) it work to get rid of it is flash original bios, make the changes you want in setup and then flash back the non whitelisted. As long as you don't enter setup it should work stable. The unlocked menus have no sense cause when you change anything seems like bios detects a "corruption" and halts with that black screen. Will upload a nonwhitelisted only bios asap.

hi camilo, thanks for the new nwl only file. will try it when i get home from work. i wasn't planning to go into the bios with the firmware you posted earlier but i can't make the wireless work as the hotkey for wireless stopped working after i updated the bios to the one u posted earlier. so i had to go into bios to check it and right after i exit the bios, the laptop wouldn't boot anymore. flashing back to the original F.1A solved the wireless hotkey but after i re-flash it to your firmware posted earlier, the hotkey stopped working again.

Let's hope this one will work. will report back later today. THANKS!!!

dv6-6167cl

Tried this today and the computer rebooted into bios update screen but when apply update was selected a failure message was provided. Something like "Bios Update Failed" and the computer then reboots normally.

Delete hptools partition before flashing the mod.

Thanks, forgot about that. I know I remember reading that now. I just renamed the partition and it seemed to work fine though I've yet to test the new wlan card. Do you think it will hurt anything if I set the name back to HP_TOOLS. Kind of like the idea of it being there. Is there anything inherent in the HP_TOOLS partition that would prevent the NWL bios from working correctly. I mean just that it exists.

UPDATE: Just installed Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 and computer booted just fine. Installing drivers now.
UPDATE: Drivers were a [censored]. Don't know why but couldn't get any of the driver installers to work, not from HP or Intel, manually installing drivers by extracting HP drivers and browsing to inf file worked.

UPDATE: For what is worth, the drivers for this WLAN card must not be that good. I think I got better performance from the old broadcom 2.4Ghz card. I don't know that I can recommend this WLAN module right now for this laptop. Maybe it is a driver issue or maybe the Intel ProSet software will help.

Thanks again Camilo!
