[Unlocked] M4A78LT-M(cm1630)--Unlocked retail ROM for OEM ASUS Essentio CM1630
#31
I can confirm that flashing to this bios WILL FRY YOUR ONBOARD NETWORK ADAPTER. If you don't want permanent damage to your MB move on. I doubt there is a fix, besides buying the MB from the manufacturer instead of trying to unlock yours... a lot safer that way.

Is there a version of this bios that has a good boot block?. Every time I try to flash it it tells me the boot block is bad and will not flash it.

When I attempt to flash the bios it tells me that the file is corrupted. I really want to be able to overclock this PC as well as upgrade the processor to a "black box" version. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

SLIC has been updated on this retail BIOS to appear as OEM so that the OEM ASUS Windows 7 version stays activated.
**

Mobo: M4A78LT-M(CM1630)--Essentio CM1630 Desktop

Attached is a modified ROM, originally intended for the retail M4A78LT-M mobo, which has been modified so that its ROM ID and Model match that used on the OEM release, allowing it to be flashed to the OEM mobo. This modified bios will enable features that were stripped from the OEM Bios on the M4A78LT-M(CM1630) mobo. The modified bios is version M4A78LT-M-ASUS-0802.

This ROM will enable the following options in the Bios, previously stripped from the OEM version: JumperFree Configuration, CPU Configuration (core unlocker/unleash), NorthBridge Configuration, Memory Configuration, ECC Configuration, APM Configuration, HW Monitor Configuration, and ASUS O.C. Profile.

Flash at your own risk.

When I attempt to flash my bios with this file, it says it's corrupted. Any ideas?

I was able to get the bios to update with the modified file. When I unlock the cores, it comes back & tells me that it was successful. Says under processor name that it is a AND Phenom X4. But when I save the bios changes, Windows will not load, just stays at the loading Windows splash screen but never goes any further, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Quote:The little change between the retail and the factory board is the ethernet on the retail is a Realtek RTL8168/8111, and the factory is Realtek RTL8112. BUMMER

How did you determine this about the RTL8168/8111? Did you buy a retail mobo or know someone who has one? The documentation on the ASUS site mentions RTL8112 for retail M4A78LT-M. I have a CG1330 (AMD Phenom 1035T, M4A78LT-M board) with ASUS OEM BIOS and it has a RTL8112 chip. Looking for BIOS control of the RAM, and overclocking support in the BIOS.

Thanks
