| acer m1641 I'm trying to install os x on this piece of crap acer machine, and the bios is also a piece of crap. It's locked, of course and I need to set at least one option to get my hackintosh working. I dug around these forums and found this thread stating that my bios has no advanced options. Does this mean that acer sucks so much that the option to configure things like ahci (what I need for hackintosh) not only is inaccessible but doesn't even exist!? If this is the case, then how can I be 100% sure a modded bios will work on my system (namely this one, which was recommended to me by the guy at insanelymac.com who I was talking to about getting os x on my pc)? Or if anyone has a different suggestion for a bios. System specs are in sig, hopefully I didn't leave anything out. I really want Leo on my pc... :*( Edit: Oh and if anyone knows a backdoor password for my system, that works just as well. Post-edit:"There is no ACER SLIC v2.1 which will activate Windows 7 as OEM" What does that mean for me if I use that BIOS and my OS is Windows 7 Ultimate (x86)? | RE: acer m1641 1. If we say that it cant be unlocked then your stuck with what you have. Try pressing Ctrl F1 , Ctrl F9 or Ctrl Home in the BIOS as this SOMETIMES unhides advanced options but not always. 2. SLIC - Google what this is! 3. Backdoor Passwords , we have a sticky thread here http://[http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/T...-Passwords Regards Admin ![]() If We Successfully Mod Your Bios , Please Consider A Small Donation As A "Thank You". | |||

| RE: acer m1641 Okay, but is there any way to be sure that a specific modded bios will work on my machine? So from what I understand the slic thing means my windows 7 won't be activated anymore? (not a problem since that's not how my windows 7 was activated anyway...hehehe) CPU: Intel Pentium Dual Core E2180 "Conroe" @ 2.0Ghz (SSE 1,2,3) Mobo: Acer MCP73VE--Chipset: Nvidia GeForce 7050/nForce 620i--BIOS: A.M.I. | RE: acer m1641 No , if it was activated , it wont do anything , its just another activation method. The one over at insanely mac probably had a patched DSDt which allows you to get power features out of the Pc (ACPI Settings) to work with OSX Regards Admin ![]() If We Successfully Mod Your Bios , Please Consider A Small Donation As A "Thank You". | |||

| RE: acer m1641 So how can I tell if a certain modded BIOS will work for my machine? e.g. What do I need to look at to make sure it's compatible? CPU: Intel Pentium Dual Core E2180 "Conroe" @ 2.0Ghz (SSE 1,2,3) Mobo: Acer MCP73VE--Chipset: Nvidia GeForce 7050/nForce 620i--BIOS: A.M.I.
