Bios Backup ^^

Thanks for giving it a go.

Look result, unpack it error 201 so You have AMD CPU ?
I have to find a way to re-write back your Bios Mod, I have just prepared It for Slic 2.1 + NWL + Mwnu Tabs Unlocked !
Let me know
regards

here your patch :

http://rghost.net/private/56683604/18420...3dd5cd823c
Just to double check that I'm doing this right. I take the resulting file from clicking Go in the image below and flash that, correct?

This patch preps the bios to be modded with the hidden advanced tabs and such but makes no changes to the bios other than prep?

This laptop has an AMD A6-4455M. If you need a readout of all my computer specs I can accommodate that.

Hey friend,
this is only my txt file note where I wrote the Mods and I posted It wrong.
You can use to patch your Original Bios by PMTool extacting all Modules and modifying by HexEd (Hex Editor) then have to repack It using PMTool.
I have done It but cannot rewrite using Intel FPT, so I am looking for a tool to do
this job !
I have Phlas16.exe and FlashIt.exe to try, but I asked to Sovem to give a suggestion !

Meanwhile try this, download and follow instructions to flash It :

http://rghost.net/56686398

It will give an error 201, but We have to try !, then try the 2nd way Recovery Mode :

http://rghost.net/56686434

Recovery Procedure :

- Performing the emergency flash:

- Shutdown the netbook (notebook)
- Remove all peripheral devices
- Remove battery, Remove AC power cord
- Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds (battery and AC power still out), then release
- Put the USB Memory Stick in the USB port
- Hold "Fn" + "Esc" and plug the AC power cord in
- Now press the power button (whilst still holding Fn + Esc).
Wait until the fan will run, then release "Fn" + "Esc" keys
- The fan will run for about 2-10 minutes and the USB drive activity LED will blink
- I think the netbook rebooted automatically. If it doesn't, unplug the AC power cord once the fan has turned off

The bios should be updated with the modified BIOS, and boot as per normal.

I got the error 201 that you expected when using the bootable disk.

Every recovery attempt I tried did not work. What I did:
Format 1GB USB Flash drive with FAT.
Placed QAWGHX64.fd to the root directory of the flash drive.

After this I followed your instructions. "Fn + Esc" does nothing, the bios loads and then windows loads.
After doing a little bit more research, it appears I may need to use "Fn + R" or "Fn + B" both of these make my fan speed 100% but simply sit there.
I have tried these three combinations 3 times each. I have tried it once for each USB port on the laptop. The times when I used "R" and "B" I let the computer sit for 15 minutes each time, to make sure that I didn't mess anything up. After 15 minutes, the fan was still running at full speed. The Bios does not appear to have been changed. I am still testing different methods at the moment. Do you see anything that I'm doing wrong?

No You are doing well, but Recovery may be is disabled so only using other tool we can try !
I think You can use phlasIt.exe from USB Dos Bootable Stick so try It using Recovery Bios Mod file :

http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Welcome-FAQs...a-p/278406

Here You find infos to use FlashIt.exe and the executable too !

Here is your folder with tool and Bios renamed for FlashIt, so copy all into USB Stick prepared and reboot to USB Dos
It will be start automaticaly !

It looks like it threw an error as soon as the Flash Utility ran.

Error:Not support AT-p information CL Registry:0x2

Edit: Before I posted a request for a bios, I tried to wrap my head around things and this blog had quite a bit of info about modding this. He modified the Insyde flash utility (that comes in the executable provided by Lenovo to flash the bios) to ignore a modded bios. Would this be a possible solution for me?
