ECS GeForce6100PM-M2: Phenom II Support
#1
Hi there,
I'd really like to add Phenom II support to my board (Socket AM2+). I've already replaced the original AGESACPU.ROM with another one from a GIGABYTE board, but I'm not sure if this is going to work, and as I don't want to brick my bios, I've not yet tried to patch the modded bios.bin to my board. I just want to upgrade my board with a Phenom II X4 810 CPU, its for socket AM3, 938 pins, 95 Watts (cause my board only supports up to 95 Watt processors). Thx in advance

Sadly i am unsure about how CPU Support works , with intel processors i know it has something to do with microcode replacement , which tells the board what chips to use , Intel doesnt release these microcodes however , so i have no idea what chip has which code. AMD's are no easier

Sorry, maybe someone else can help you though

Well would it be possible to get the whole thing working with the agesacode file from another board? The original file from my bios looks like this:
Code:

. As far as I see it, it should work. Correct me if I'm wrong. The only problem seems to be the AGESA version: mine is 3.1.1.0 the other one is 3.5.3.0.

Hmmm thats interesting , in theory , replacing the AGESA rom with the more up to date one should add CPU support

Try it at your own risk , but if you do decide to go ahead , make sure you know all the risks and arepreared for the absolute worst (buying a new motherboard!)

Let us know how you go :d

good Luck!

yeah I am pretty excited to see this as well, as I was toying with the idea sometime back myself. Worst comes to worst buy a new bios chip.

well, now i thought, why not buy a new mb, case and ddr3 ram. I've bought one Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P board (socket AM3) with the amd 790x chipset, a midi tower 500 watts and one 2gb ddr3 kingston ram module (pc12800). Thats my new pc (with my old hdd 500gb maxtor, old dvd burner lg dvdram and graphics card nvidia geforce 9400 gt 1gb). I didnt wanna destroy my old board so ive decided to keep the cpu untouched till the new board is delivered. when everything is complete, i'll tell you.

Found out some info now

CPU Support is determined by the ACPITBL.BIN and also AGESACPU.ROM

Finding another board which supports the cpu you want , extracting ACPITBL.BIN and AGESACPU.ROM and replacing them over the older one into the bios you want modding should work Big Grin

Hi guys, Need to know if thier is a way to update the bios for this motherboard to support the newer 6 core cpu's. I currently have one (AMD Phenom II X6 1100T) installed in my motherboard which is actually a HP nettle2-gl8e board that was bios chip switched and flashed to ECS firmware for the board mentioned in the subject (ECS geforce6100pm-m2 (v2.0) with award bios.

Wasn't able to get the cpu to work with that bios, but ran fine with my dual core athlon. All settings in bios worked too.

Currently am running ECS Geforce6100pm-m2 v8.0 **AMI bios** firmware via eeprom programmer. and cpu does work in this board but is not clocking correctly with this AMI bios. Bios settings don't seem to work for cpu voltage and she don't run too stable at 3.3ghz when the core voltage is only 1.175 volts.

Only runs at 800Mhz core frequency with everything set to auto in the bios. and a core voltage of 1.225 set auto with the ami firmware.

I think I need the original Award firmware to get this to work correctly. Correct me if I am wrong.

Here is the link to the latest bios that I need modded for Phenom II X6 support.

I think I may have found a bios to get the latest agesacpu update out of it. It's from a gigabyte motherboard with the same or at least similar chipset. I have used other firmware based on chipset and it works but anyway. Beta Version Firmware is from gigabyte motherboard model GA-M61PME-S2P (rev. 1.3) and this board does support the 1100t cpu I want to use in my board.

Does anyone know how to update the AGESACPU.ROM in my bios for the ECS Geforce6100SM-PM (V2.0). I would do it, but have tried with no luck using both cbrom 2.20 and awdbiosedt version 1.2 to replace both AGESACPU.ROM and ACPITBL.BIN. I just can't get this to work for me.

Almost forgot the link to the would be donor bios.

http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/BIO...2p_f7b.exe

It's self extracting 7-zipped from thier site for some reason or another.
