[Request] HP Z400 Workstation Bios Unlock Needed
#1
Question
Hi all.

I started this thread in here because i couldn't find any threads related to this Mainboard yet. I want to "unlock" BIOS (overclocking) for HP Workstation Z400, but i really dont know where to start.

System Information:
Operating System: Windows 7 build 7600 (64-bit)
Motherboard Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
Motherboard Model: 0B4Ch
Motherboard Version: D
Chipset: Intel X58 Rev 13
BIOS Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
BIOS Version: HPQOEM - 20101029
BIOS Release Date: 2010/10/29

BiosAgent sais:
BIOS ID: 786G3 v03.15
BIOS OEM: 786G3 v03.15

Startupscreen says v03.15. There is a v03.54 available at HP's website, but i didn't want to update yet, not to deny further unlocking actions because of too new BIOS.

I looked through the mods in this board but couldn't find anything similar or useful.

Since it seems to be a OEM-BIOS i don't know if it's possible and if so where to start.

I appreciate any help Smile

Hi I have the exact same issue, I bought a used HP Z400 off ebay for $300 with a Xeon L5639 6-core CPU, 12GB ram, installed an SSD, GTX 770 (I know x16 2.0 not 3.0), and a 2nd PSU (via add2psu adapter). It benchmarks above the 70% of gaming PCs in the newest 3dmark. I'm extremely happy with it!
I just need a bios unlock to make this thing S C R E A M!.. Please post if anyone has anything for this MB. I am a complete noob at bois mods but program for a living so I realize nothing is impossible. Any help would be much appreciated! Big Grin

Hello and thank you for accepting me into this forum. I'd like to make my request, if possible, to unlock my HP Z400 Bios to allow overclocking or, better, to permanently modify turbo frequencies multipliers (e.g. x30 = 4000Mhz) from Bios. My CPU is an Intel Xeon W3680 and my Z400 (6 memory slots) is a triple boot machine, Win7 - Linux - Mac OS X. My Bios version is 03.57. BTW on Windows 7 Pro64 I can modify turbo frequency multipliers with Intel XTU although other over clock options are greyed and not available.
Thank you for reading this post.
