[Request][Help] Hp G72/G62 Insyde F.46 Unlocked Bios

Good Afternoon.

I am a new to the bios modding community, and I would like to request an unlocked insyde f. 46 bios for the hp g72/g62 laptop.

Here's why I keep listing it like that:

Around a year ago,  my ac adaptor went bad.  My dad thought it would be a good idea for him to resolder it without me knowing.  when he tested it in my computer,  he reversed the polarity, and it fried my B60us Motherboard.  While i did this,  I ended up ordering a i7 720qm for it,  considering if the motherboard didn't boot with it,  it would be a hefty upgrade for my dad's laptop.  I also ordered a motherboard that included a 5470m 512m dedicated graphics card, as I was running off of intel hd graphics.  The problem with that is that I don't know which model the motherboard came from, all the information that I know is that the board number is 615848-001 , and the information I know due to the bios. 

Why I want an unlocked bios:

This is my main laptop.  I use it for testing everything.  I need the option for more advanced options, like disabling certain cpu functions, and managing power.  I also use this laptop to dual boot Windows 8.1 and Mac os X Yosemite.  If I can disable a few functions,  I can provide a much more stable environment for Mac os x.  I also want to provide certain fan control, and just the feeling of being limited on a "workbench/gaming/development" laptop really bogs down a person,  especially
4 if they are a tinkerer.  I would really appreciate this.

Sorry about there not being a link to the stock bios,  as I don't know which revision is mine.  Please help me locate where and how I can identify this and what exact model it came out of, and if possible,  link me or unlock said bios!

Oops, very sorry!  Found that you can find the product number under hp support assistant.

The motherboard came out of a XF122EA#ABF, or otherwise known as a g72-B54SF.

Currently running Windows 8.1:

F.48 12-2011 4.52M sp55430.exe

F.35 09-2010   3.9M   sp50335.exe


may I please get a link to this revision? Please and thank you very much!

Would it hurt to put a F.48 revision bios under it?

I have the G72-B15SD, my bios version is f.48. I want to disable switchable graphics in order to use windows 8.1. There are no drivers for windows 8.1 for switchable graphics.

How did you manage to get your system to accept the core i7 QM Clarkdale processor? I have an almost similar G72, mine is the B66US variant originally came with i3 350M processor now running i5 580M. I tried an i7 720qm but it wouldn't boot (lights on, no display). The maintenance manual lists the highest processor it is upgradeable as the i7 620M (Arrandale). Are chipsets on these G72s different? or do I require a bios mod?

Sorry for late reply. Did the exact same thing. Can't find a working link to the bios, it is crap. I went 4 months without this thing for something extremely dumb. I forgot to put thermal paste on. It would keep turning off. I ended up getting an i7- 740qm in there, just fine. Clarkdale works, although it is not in the official cpu supported list, bios modded or not.

Hi, fuducker81 & kocoman

I own a HP G62-B85SS laptop, running Windows 10 Pro.

Intel i3-350m processor with HD5470 512MB discrete graphic, switchable with Intel HD graphics
MainBoard 143A 60.50 & F48 ver. BIOS

G62 & G72 Intel based laptops seem to have different models of 143A mainboards, here in BIOS-Mods a user of a G72 bricked BIOS has a 143A 60.22 mainboard.
This may be the reason why some 143A mainboards accept Quadcore processors and others not.

Could you post your CPU-z mainboard especifications, BIOS ver, SO your runnig, etc... fuducker81?

By the way is it worth to upgrade from an i3-350M to a i7-720QM?. On Ali yo can get one from 15€

Or in the case my maiboard is not compatible with Quad processors, Will be a i7-620m an improvement? (upgrade from dual core to dual core)
