[REQUEST] Lenovo X220 (8DETxxWW) Whitelist Removal

Hi

Oleh helped me with an older X220 v1.40 BIOS which was also password protected, and which I have the password for.

Could you PM me the link to the new v1.42 BIOS and I'll test it with the previous password he gave me.

If it works I'll repost the v1.42 BIOS to another file host.
 Glad to know that.

Someone reported successful downgrade from bios 1.42 to 1.40 on thinkpads.com forum here: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=120508&p=782561#p782561

True or not is yet undetermined..

(06-14-2016, 04:52 PM)BIOS Hazard Wrote: Hello. I have a X220T tablet and since I found different zips for this custom BIOS, different (very different) in sizes, I wanted to ask you what's the diffeence between them. I cannot access the files at rghost.net (it says they are restricted). So basically what I found is
- 13.5 MB http://www3.zippyshare.com/v/WaSvh3E4/file.html (the one diablo666 posted here[/url], on zippyshare);
- 14.7 MB http://www.mediafire.com/download/4exae4...40_MOD.zip (posted by Raidriar at http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/...se.782077/) (pass=raidriar@nbr)
- 3.5 MB http://www.mediafire.com/download/7fne9h...Speedo.rar found at http://x220.mcdonnelltech.com/
even though the first two have similar size, once extracted the first is 37 MB, the second is 56 MB.
Now, one contains the original firmware too, I understand that, another contains many files whose functions I don't understand. Besides, the first and the third archives contain files dated years in the future...
What are the differences? Do they provide all the same things? Can someone point me in the right direction, please?
Good question Big Grin

Extract, inside of modified folder, within Windows, run "FLASH.BAT"

Reboot, check BIOS version. Very simple. Did this on multiple X220 units after 1.42 update.

Can anyone confirm with that!!!.. is it true!?

Guys its up here https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-S...ified-BIOS

Its working with my X220 using an Intel 7260ac card and an Ericsson H5321gw.

Cant test the RAM speed as I have 1333Mhz RAM at the moment. Menus are unlocked to allow the selection of 1866Mhz RAM though.

That's common with any modified bios.

It's basically a check the system does to indicate that the bios isn't original.

Just turn off the security chip option and the beeps will stop.
