Hi All,

Ive been abit of a lurker around the forum for some time, but I thought it was now time to sign up as I dont know my way round how to successfully Unlock or mod a bios safely without bricking my Dell Vostro 3750.

What I would like
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Would love to have a bios with fully unlocked UEFI capabilitys to enable fast booting of OS. Unlocking of other advance options in the bios would also be good (if possible).
What Ive read so far about my Dell Vostro 3750
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It appears that someone on here may be trying to do what I kindly request. Ive sent him a message directing him to this thread for anyone else who may be searching for this biod mod. See here:

From my googling im pretty sure that the Dell Vostro 3750 uses the same motherboard as the Dell Vostro 3450. Some people seem to be having success with unlocking the Dell Vostro 3450 here:-

Bios

Lastest version of bios can be found on the dell site at:

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/uk/e...ostro-3750

I am currently running the latest version (A14).

Thanks in advance if anyone can help. Im technically minded, but reverse engineering boggles my mind Huh
Ive discussed with Nextor about the modded bios by email, and unfortunately we are both inexperienced in reverse engineering a bios. Hopefully 1 of the 62 views of this thread my have that experience and know how.
***DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. I AND THE PATCH CREATOR TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE OR LOSS ETC ***

Ive found a program for patching and enabling Advanced menus on a Russian forum called PMpatch, but even after translating the page its very broken english and hard to understand.

http://www.applelife.ru/threads/%D0%A3%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%B2%D0%B5%D1%80%D1%81%D0%B0%D0%BB%D1%8C%D0%BD%D1%8B%D0%B9-%D0%BF%D0%B0%D1%82%D1%87%D0%B5%D1%80-uefi-%D0%B1%D0%B8%D0%BE%D1%81%D0%BE%D0%B2.37815/

The patch seems to run fine on the Dell Bios A14 (latest) exe with no errors and says its patched as follows:

D:\Downloads\PMPatch_0.5.5_win>pmpatch 3750A14.exe 3750Pat.exe
PMPatch 0.5.5
PowerManagement module not found.
Nested PowerManagement module not found.
Nested PlatformSetupAdvancedDxe.efi at 0072BA48 patched.
Nested PowerManagement2.efi module at 006223E8 patched.
Dell RAW file checksums corrected.
CpuPei module not found.
~~~~~~~~
SO it appears to be a SUCCESS!!!
Ive flashed the patched bios and it APPEARS to have unlocked the advance menu in the bios where I can set UEFI boot options. Now just need to learn and test how to do a Windows 8 UEFI install.
Thanks goes out to the guys in this forum from the DELL XPS 15Z L511z bios thread, especially Timewalker who gave me the courage to flash the modded firmware.
Now lets see if it actually works Smile
hi, just wondering if this would wipe out anything to do with pw hints and locks.
when flashed is everything re-written, when dell bios is updated pw and hint screens remain, will the same happen with a flashed bios?
as you may have assumed i have a 3750 and i have the dreaded pw block that dell say will need a new mobo. is there any hope to bypass it?
i have looked for a schematic unsuccessfully
please help.
