Hello,

I have a Compaq Presario SR5632PT with MCP61PM-HM (Nettle3) Rev 2.2 motherboard with bios version 5.29.

I would like to have overclock options to CPU/RAM and voltages. I needed to update to bios 5.29 because i have upgraded to 8gb of RAM, 4GB+ supported only after the bios update. This bios is Phoenix-Award. If i'm not posting in the right place, sorry about that Big Grin

This bios has very very limited options. I think that i can change date/time and lock with password because god wanted XD

If there are more "interesting" options, like change Hard drive access mode, if possible, i would be happy to have them too.

Hi derraderio,

I sent you a PM about posting a system dump of your hardware (CPU etc.) I'm pretty sure you do in fact have the nettle3 but would like to confirm with your computer log. If you do infact have the nettle3, then this is the thread for you.

Hi

Dont know if is this that you need:

(Dump from a software)Motherboard:
CPU Type TripleCore AMD Phenom X3 8550, 2200 MHz (11 x 200)
Motherboard Name ECS MCP61PM-HM (Nettle3) (1 PCI, 2 PCI-E x1, 1 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR2 DIMM, Audio, Video, LAN, IEEE-1394)
Motherboard Chipset nVIDIA nForce 6150SE-430, AMD K10
System Memory 7936 MB (DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM)
DIMM1: 4 GB DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM (6-6-6-18 @ 400 MHz) (5-4-4-12 @ 266 MHz) (4-3-3-9 @ 200 MHz)
DIMM2: 4 GB DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM (6-6-6-18 @ 400 MHz) (5-4-4-12 @ 266 MHz) (4-3-3-9 @ 200 MHz)
BIOS Type Award (05/22/09)

The Default system hardware dump tool only tells this about motherboard:

System Model - NC185AA-AB9 SR5632PT
System Type - x64-based PC
Bios Date/Version - Phoenix Technologies, LTD 5.29, 22-05-2009
SMBIOS Version - 2.4

The rest is graphics card, drives, etc... Looks like it is a nettle3.

I saw the topic that you referred but it says bios 5.17 and if im not wrong, there is a reference to a 5.27 bios. Like i said, the last bios (5.29) added support to 8GB of ram and i really need that. I will wait for your answer.

Thanks
The thread above then indeed is the thread instructions you will want to follow.

Version 5.27 is for the Nettle 2 ONLY

Version 5.29 is for the Nettle 3 ONLY

The thread above however has a custom BIOS that is not even based of the HP BIOS, therefore these version numbers do not apply. That custom BIOS should provide you with the 8GB RAM support you are looking for.
