I have succesfuly exracted the bios sp;ash screen images from two bios versions, i intend replacing the splash screen from one to the other.

If I use the extract tab under mmtool322 and rename the created file to .bmp i can view the splash screen in windows picture viewer etc, problem is how do I re insert the new image?

I have tried extracting the image without uncompressing it (as is in rom option) then replace the oem logo file in the target bios but when I try to re extract the image I get no preview available error.

I would rather not flash this bios rom just incase It leaves me with problems, so for now I have left well enough alone.

Any advicse on how to correctly remove/replace bios rom components would be apreciated.

thanks

sean.

I'm trying to put the pegatron (0704) splash screen in the rm bios.

Whilst you are in there could you check for any locked options mainly memory timings and vcore.

I do have a thread open asking the same in the unlocking catagory.

cheers

Thanks alot for that, I have downloaded the bios rom and flashed it, upon reboot windows demanded to be activated so I used an oem coa I had in my draw to reactivate (i have a fair few for different versions of windows but I prefer unattend installs it just goes smoother), After checking with slic check tool it appears that the slp string was not present for some reason (either i forgot to add it or it somehow didn't flash right).

So i decided to give it another go myself, I dug out the old back up of the slic modded rm bios from months ago and had another go at inserting the pegatron splash screen.

I figured out why it didn't work the first time I tried, it was because I attempted to replace the module rather than delete the original, once I deleted the original I selected the insert option and checked the compress module option and it all worked.

so I now have a good slic2.1+ slp1.0 modded version of the latest bios with the generic pegatron splash screen which is what I wanted.

I just need to try unlock some advanced options now if I can, I will get a grip of the mod tools eventualy I swear.

Would love to get my hands on the ami Visual eBIOS program.

Thanks again for your help

and happy new year to you
