Thank you Sir, what I understand is this:
1. Download
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...6&sw_lang= and run in Windows to install the UEFI environment to a USB stick called HP_TOOLS.
2. Download
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...6&sw_lang= to prepare USB stick for BIOS update
3. Download F.01 firmware from
https://www.sendspace.com/file/cr7th0 and copy files to the USB stick to rollback firmware.
4. Use BIOS recovery procedure at
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum...ct=5277396 to rollback current F.08 BIOS to F.01 on the USB stick.
Is this right?
May I ask, why rollback to F0.1 when there is F.04 BIOS available?
Thank you Sir.
Ok friend,
I can say that :
1. this tool will write, rebuilding into your laptop, HP_TOOLS hidden partition (not on USB) (It's your model own tool)
2. this tool will write, on USB or on internal HD, the HP_TOOLS hidden partition (It's not your model own tool)
3. These files I prepared to rollback at v.F.01 as older one (more chances to work) then You can use normal update to upgrade
4. Recovery Procedure Generic for all HP Laptop
Now It's right
!!!
Let me know
Regards
Thank you for the explanation, why do I need to install the partition on both the hard disk and the USB flash?
And the USB stick with HP_TOOLS in step 3, this is not for my model so will it cause any problems or brick?

Ok friend,
use the first one :
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...96&sw_lang=
I tried It and It's the same like 2nd, but It's more updated so better.
Run It and choice the USB Flash Drive, then create It on your USB Stick and rename USB Drive
as HP_TOOLS, copy Recovery Files into root and try !
Regards
P.S. You don't risk a Brick as or It work or don't work.

Ok friend,
I said You can use (CAN not have) the 1st or 2nd to prepare USB Stick (then rename USB as HP_TOOLS) !
I suggest to use the 2nd as It's a generic tool to make a USB UEFI Boot tool and to use the 1st only if You could delete the internal HD Parttition HP_TOOLS !
When You have got your USB Stick then proceed to copy files into (these have to be placed into root).
Let me know

I understand now Sir, thank you for explaining
I will use the USB method this weekend and let you know. Many thanks again, appreciate your kind help and will let post back here after trying.
Hi,
I installed
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...96&sw_lang= onto a USB stick which installed HP UEFI and also named the USB stick as HP_TOOLS.
I then copied the two files 0338D.bin and 0388D.SIG to the root. Then I used the instructions at
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum...ct=5277396 to try and restore but it doesn't seem to work.
I switch off the laptop and connect using the power only. I put the USB stick in and switch on the laptop while holding down the Windows key and B. The laptop switches on and the power light shows but all I get is a blank screen. There is no BIOS recovery screen or anything.
The light on the USB stick is lit but there is no beeps from the laptop. Some other lights such as wifi and caps lock also light but the screen is still blank. I waited a few mins but still nothing.
I also try again and holding Windows key and B a little longer for a few seconds as HP recommends but still nothing. if I remove the USB stick, the laptop boots normally.
Any advice Sir?
Hi friend,
can You look into internal laptop HD for HP_TOOLS partition and look for .bin file !
May be It's a hidden partition, so You have to llok for your partitions on HD.
Let me know which file there is and upload here, please.

Thank you, I will install
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...96&sw_lang= to the hard disk of the laptop and look for the bin file in the hidden partition.
