Hello,

First of all I'm not sure is this thread is for unlocking or for cpu upgrade. This case is a little bit complicated for me so I'm posting it here but if you think it is for cpu upgrade will be grateful to move it there.

So, this is the story.
I decided to upgrade the processor of my notebook (Toshiba Equium M50-244) from Celeron 360 to PentiumM 755 with hope I'll give to my old laptop further couple of years. I'm using WinXP SP3 on this laptop. For my bad when it starts the CPU work just like in power save mode - with multiplier 6x instead of 20x and on 600Mhz instead of 2Ghz. So, I wrote to Toshiba service and they said "Problem is that after CPU upgrade you will have runtime problems. Why? CPU is not matching the DMI (Detailed Machine Info) which is written in the BIOS. And you will have to rewrite that, but how you can do this? You will not be able to use CPUs full speed."

I'm noob with the "phoenix bios editor" but I've opened the original bios with it and I think there are hidden options especially power ones. So, I think if there are hidden power options in bios and I have them I can stop power save and put the cpu on track. Thats why I'm posting here. Here is the tech info:

-Manufacturer: Toshiba, (Toshiba Equium M50-244)
-Motherboard Model: Toshiba HAZ00/HTW01
-Bios revision: 1.9
-Bios Type: Phoenix BIOS
-Bios Download Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?w68h6lxh2e2mwec
-RW Everything Report Download Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?9ahbtri2p8aj1m7

Thanks to anyone who will help me!

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,
Plamen
