I read the last night a lot about whitelist, PCI-ID & Co
It seems to be 3 ways to install the N-6230.
1. Ordering one from US (expensive)
2. Change the Subsystem ID from my N-6230 (no secondary PCIe Port)
3. Use a modded Bios (RSA signed)
Today I use the Universal Bios Backup and opened the file with Phonix Tool. It seems, that this file is not RSA signed. Would it be possible to remove the whitelist and restore this backup file?

Hi All,
I have this HP dv7-6b32us laptop with F.19 bios and laptop would not let be downgrade to the F.02 bios posted in this thread. I want to replace my WiFi card with a WiFi/Bluetooth card and would really appreciate if someone please mod the most recent bios to remove the WiFi card & bluetooth card whitelist.
Here is the link to recent F.1B bios :
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59501-60000/sp59755.exe
Best regards.
I'm having the same issue.. I have a dv6 and was able to downgrade from F.1B to F.12 (sp55375). However, flashing the modded sp55375 (both v1 and v2) results in a black screen with a flashing caps lock light. Trying to downgrade to F.02 gives me the "boot block cannot downgrade" using the standard Insyde flashing program. Trying to flash F.02 with the HP recovery flash drive gives another black screen with flashing caps lock.
My bios works fine, but it is not the very latest version (I like to always have the latest version on my devices).
Next to that, I really have to watch out when switching the laptop on. Pressing the setup key or even pressing the Boot Menu button results in a black screen with flashing capslock key at the next reboot.
This can be fixed (I have a dedicated flashkey for that now ;-) ) but the wifi card has to be taken out physically so that is not so cool on the road.
Just remember to not ever let anyone touch your laptop!
Any solution for the unable to downgrade issue?
Hi all!
I recently discovered that I cannot mount every wirelles card that I like on my laptop pc, and it makes me angry.
I read that it's possible to install a modified BIOS firmware with the wireless card whitelist removed. How can I do this?
My coputer is a HP dv7-6b97el
Thank you all for your help!
Did anyone get this done I need the same BIOS mod.
Thanks
