Merry Christmas! Bellow is the bios info. Thanks in advance.
-----------------------------------------
- Manufacturer: Acer
- Model: Aspire 7736 [G/ZG]
- Bios version: 2.0
- Bios manufacturer: Phoenix
- Bios download link: BIOS_Acer_2.00_A_A.zip
- Original SLIC: 2.0
- Desired SLIC: 2.1
Here you go , i used Acer 2.1 SLIC + Certificate Included:-

1. Copy and paste ******.XRM-MS certificate file into C-Drive.

2. After pasting this file into C-Drive, go to START - ALL PROGRAMS - ACCESSORIES - COMMAND PROMPT. Right click on Command Prompt and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

3. When Command Prompt opens, type at the prompt: slmgr.vbs -ilc c:\********.xrm-ms and hit the Enter Button. Wait for the Script Host to answer you with a message that the license was installed successfully....this could take a few minutes and so be patient.

4. After receiving the message that the license was installed successfully, type at the command prompt: slmgr.vbs -ipk *****-*****-*****-*****-***** (Replace with any OEM SLP Product Key for your installed version of Windows 7 , they are not hard to find).Be Patient and wait for the message to say that the Product Key was sucessfully installed. After it says successfully installed, reboot the computer.

5. When you are back at your desktop, go to START - COMPUTER - right click on Computer and choose PROPERTIES and see if it is activated with an OEM product ID.

Thank you for the quick reply. The bios works (flashed ok, system stable) but the activation didn't. I could attach the rw-everything section dump if it's any help. As an off-topic question, is it possible to activate virtualization support (VT/VT-x) on this bios? It's disabled by default on most acer models and of course, the bios option to enable it is missing. This probably is outside the topic of regular bios mods, but you never know, maybe someone knows something about it Tongue

Thanks again for your effort.
Yes , please attach RW Everything Report , as this will help us to get the mod right!

Phoenix bioses cannot currently be unlocked for hidden options , so i cannot help you with virtualization Sad

Sorry

The new one worked like a charm. I'll update in a couple of hours if I run into any stability issues.

Thanks again!
Hi! Zip contains 3 fails, according instruction only ******.XRM-MS necessary use during manipulation. For what, and how to use *******.WPH and *******.EXE. How I can check what version of SLIC installed on laptop (2.0 or 2.1) before and after manipulation.
If the laptop came with Vista , it has SLIC 2.0 , if it came with Windows 7 it already has SLIC 2.1.

The **********.XRM.RS is the certifcate you have to install AFTER flashing the modded bios. The .WPH and .EXE are the files to update your bios.

Im goingt o say that if you dont know how to flash your bios you dont know hoe to recover if the flash fails and therefore i strongly advise youm NOT to flash until you haveresearched this and know the risks involved
