I bought a Dell Latitude D520 off Ebay recently and altho I have not recieved the laptop yet, I do want to upgrade to Win 7. I have a Dell Win 7 reinstall disc coming also and understand that the SLIC 2.1 is what it looks for and what will make it activate

I found this older request with what looks like it was confirmed working but the link to dropbox is dead http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-De...l-2-1-SLIC
And then I found this one which is working, but it was never confirmed or unconfirmed

Is there a way to confirm Bios are good without running a bios update and checking with SLC Dump toolkit?. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions

Thanks for the reply.. I will do that
Forgot to ask. Being that I am going to use an OEM Dell reinstall disc, will I need to add a key or cert or will they load from from the disc upon install?
