Ever since learning about SLIC's last week right after I purchased a Dell Latitude D520 and had the idea to install Win 7 on it. I usually purchase legal versions of windows ( be it Retail or OEM ) Still don't have the laptop yet, but I have a genuine Dell Win 7 pro disc coming and I have a premade bios with SLIC 2.1. I also found the modding software for phoenix bios and did a bios myself for the D520. Both bios's check out the same so I gather that the Bios that I did will probably work just the same..

Now, I'm thinking about helping my brother out if he will let me. His desktop was a El cheepo Emachines with an ok graphics card and some added ram and a bit better processor. He never had the SLIC's modded and his version of Win 7 ultimate never activated, no loaders or cracks and so the whole machine was messed up.. A while ago I gave him the case and mobo with processor to my old box, which used an Asus M3A78-CM mobo and an AMD Athlon II 6000+, and we added his ram to the box and came up with about 6gb. It still runs ok but still runs the blacklisted Win 7 ultimate and it's still messed up.

I have gotten the AMI bios tool, and the latest Bios for the mobo and I put the bios into the tool, and used a Dell SLIC and SLP, ran it and it worked and verifies. I have also tested it with Asus SLIC and SLP.. Does that mean if I flash the bios with it and reinstall windows with the Dell OEM Win 7 install disc, the install disc will identify it as a Dell and add a Dell Cert and key automatically, or will it need to be manually edited?.. Thanks in advance
