Hi All!

I recently purchased the ASUS m5a99x EVO board, to unlock my Phenom ii x3 720 to quad. Heard that the board can do it.
But what a shocker the Core unlock option is removed form the bioses of R2.0 board, though it is persent in R1.0(The same happened with all ASUS boards REVISION 2.0 with 9XX series chipsets)

I am a novice in bios modding, so if you can help me, with advice on adding the core unlocker in m5a99x EVO r2.0 bios' will be superb!

Here' s links to bioses

Furthermore, I did some sleuthing with AMIBCP 4.53 on my Sabertooth 990FX r2 BIOS that I found on a sticky here. And found the BIOS string location of the missing setup parameter. I couldn't figure out a way to insert that back into the BIOS. It looks like an additional menu item under Advanced, CPU Core On/Off Function. If anyone can help me on how do I mod the BIOS I would be willing to do it for the OP and the other Asus 990FX R2 boards.

I have posted over at overclock.net - linked below.

Unfortunately, that guide is for Phonix BIOS.
Hi everyone!

I reopening this thread, because i was curios about one certain thing. In previous request, there was very similar issue like mine one. My bios just cant disable specific cores for my CPU, which is AMD FX 8320E, unfortunately there is just certain options to Disable specific Modules.

When I searched web, I have came across to modified Bios for ASUS FORMULA 990FX (non Z edition) where was this options possible.
I would like to ask someone, if he would be willing to modified latest BIOS or unlock hide options for this task for M5A99X EVO R2.0

My goal is make some measurements with AMD FX 8320E at 5GHz where will be disable one core in every module. This action ensures that each remaining active core will have fully available access to own unshared Cache. I expect quite interesting results and at last I want to compare this 5ghz true 4-core with 4690K runing at 4,5 GHz (maybe FX clocks will be the same for better comparison).

There I enclose latest original bios for my MB and for any response, of course, thank you very much.

P.S.: very sorry for my bad english Sad
