Long time lurker but first time poster here.

To make a long story short, i have a small, older itx board (axiomtech sbc86807 v2.0) that someone gave me. It had a few blown capacitors. After fixing the caps and booting up the unit it runs fine. Ran memtest and installed xp, ran a stress test. Everything seems to work just fine.

However, i noticed after a few boots that the unit will not save my cmos bios settings. It gives me the typical 'cmos checksum error'. I have changed the battery, saved my settings again multiple times to no avail. I physically checked around the battery and bios area for any traces or components that may physically look blown but all looks good.

The unit works good and could be used for a little project down the line so I would hate to have to trash this. I was wondering if there is any possible way i can modify the bios to skip searching for the saved cmos settings and use the default settings automatically.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
