Hi,
I've bricked my Sony VAIO VPCF11S1E/B and tried various recovery methods but none worked. Pressing the power button results in power led coming up green and fan spinning up but that's the end of it - no progress after that. I've attached the original ROM file from Sony just in case someone need it. Phoenix Tool says "EFI / Insyde BIOS". Prior to bricking it, I've used AMI tool to edit the file. Is anybody aware of working recovery method for this machine or the only solution is to go to a service center and flash it "externally"? Thanks.
For future googlers: Official Sony's response to the service request was to go to an authorized service center for diagnostics. Bare in mind that the machine is no longer under warranty. At first I went to a place which is not listed as a Sony's authorized service center but they claimed to work with VAIOs. The guys there looked at the model and said that chip desoldering is the only possible way, so I decided to go for a second opinion at the service center that Sony pointed me to in the support request. The guys there also said that desoldering is the only way to go and no recovery procedures exist on this model. After a couple of days and a few bucks back the machine is alive again.
