Yeah, I will definitely file through that site, see how I get along.

Okay, it might be near impossible to get Phenom support going for this board, or might not. But it appears that Brisbane cpus aren't supported either. We bought a 5600+ 2.9GHz processor and the system just give one short beep then one 3 second long beep over and over. I've cross-flashed it to the sister board's 5.07 bios (which I'll have to hunt down again), and still no luck.

Note: the cross-flash didn't kill the boards, it's running just fine (albeit slow) with the original processor at the moment.
Impossibe is so derogatory Tongue Please try this modded bios, hopefully your new Brisbane will fire.

I'll try it out later tonight when I get back over there. If you don't mind my asking, what changes did you make?
Well, Phenom is still something that needs work for this board because this board lacks MEMINIT. Sos first off, if you can find another board that's Award, same chipset, and has at least Phenom I support then I may be able to make a Phenom supporting ROM off that board if you find it. But, the traditional AM2 bioses like yours, it seems if there is no Brisbane support, then updated AGESA and Microcode does it, which is what I did. Yoyu are now (at least I hope so) using the latest NCPUCODE(microcode) nd AGESA (AMD CPU Support Stuff)

Oh, and did yo mention whether or not you had the means to recover?

Soldered chip 32pin plcc chip, so no easy recovery. But I can get it desoldered and reflashed locally if necessary.
Wow, normally PLCC chips are in their own socket. It shouldn't fail you, I just want to make sure you are prepped for the worst.

I'm sure you've thought of this, but have you ever tried to embed the meminit module into the BIOS and see if that worked?
Yes, many times. When you insert the module, it just "sites there" because you have to modify the main block to actually tell the bios that the memory mappings are in that module.
Okay, my apologies. I'm still trying to learn this stuff Big Grin
