Hi,
i am not clear in the following technical question .
is the Operating System expecting any calls from BIOS and how it communicates to BIOS(generally OS runs in protected mode and BIOS run in real mode) ?

if any body knows please help me

1. Last BIOSes have 32-bit procedures for "OS support"
2. "SMI-interface" used.
