Cant figure out how to get new microcode to Bios. Ive read lots of forums but it all got mixed up and now I have comp full of stuff i dont even remember what to do with it Smile

Your help is much appreciated

Original Packed Bios update - 04LK
Original unpacked Bios - 04LK
WPH file only - 04LK

Iam not including microcode pack as iam not even sure which one it should be
hi komaxx
I've mod this wph file.
Because it has limits,so i only replace microcode. (stepping g0 which you need.)
I can edit it,but i'm not sure whether it can flashing by Winphlash in the windows environment.
If it can't,you must use the phlash16 update within the dos environment.
Thank you very much for your time.
I flashed new bios in DOS without any problem with PHLASH16.exe, but i wasnt able to run this new cpu. Maybe microcode doesnt include CPUID which is 6FB for my new Intel T7700 or it could be possibly anything else (which i cant really think of right now). I was almost shocked it didnt run!!! Smile
Would anybody have any suggestions? As there are no restrictions MoBo-wise (according to EverythingRread)

Thank you very much again
Was just wondering around and could not find BIOS's update0.rom after extraction. Maybe it has different name? Would like to see what cpu IDs are supported but cant find it. Could I extract it from different BIOS update (newer one, but Phoenix) of different model of Laptop and hope it has updated microcode and implement it into mine? Just pure curiosity. (Recovery Bios is sitting right beside me, of course)!

Thanks for answer if anySmile
hi !
There are two wph file which i modify again .
I 've added a newer microcode.
Please try it again and reply info for me.
Hi again and thanks again for your effort but tried both of them and blank screen on both of them. Would there be some other restriction we are missing? I did Bios and CPU upgrade on HP PC before without any complications but this one is h.e.l.l. Sad Ive checked voltage on powering-on and its getting juice same amount as the other CPU. Iam working this weekend but will investigate it closely as i dont have a clue what else it would be.

Thanks for your help
Hi all,
finally got it to work, problem was I wasn't patient enough and didn't reset CMOS properly. So took Ram and battery out and as i dont have any pins to connect Ive connected + and - poles on Battery housing and left it for good 10min to rest. After that everything went well. Ive used 04LKB_1.WPH from last post. Its all running smooth without any troubles. It is possible that very first bios.wph file is working alright but Im not going to mess around again, I am happy enough.

Many thanks to genius239 who helped me out

Donation well deserved

congratulations on your success !
I will post the success example on my page.
Thanks your reply.
Hi!
Im currently using the P7350 but i want to try upgrade to
Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 Dual Core 2.53GHz/3M SLGFE AW80577P8700

Still waiting for the thermal grease to arrive , and i found out this topic. So better ask if it is possible to have a bios update with support for IntelĀ® Virtualization Technology (VT-x)
Post screenshots of first (CPU) & third (Mainboard) tabs of CPU-Z with installed P8700 .
