Lazy me tried to flash attached bios through Asus Windows Update ^^
Resultet in broken bios :\
Luckily the board had some build-in bios recovery.
Well does it mean attached bios is broken/corrupted or should I try again with the Afudos tool ?
Don't want to completly brick it

you can use ezflash to upate bios .
It's easy .

i'm tring the bios you linked here with a xeon x3363 but i'm having some trouble with ram.
I'm almost sure i'ts because those rams aren't very well configured but also because are cheap ram,
if i try to set ram manually (also with old e4600 cpu) motherboard hangs even at 667Mhz.
I've noticed with spd tool some spd settings are far higer than ones i can reach with manual bios settings and only leaving bios on auto motherboard can boot.
Is there any way to show all spd settings on this bios and to show higher settings( i can only reach 42t and i need 51t)?

I've tried some kingston rams and systems seem to be working now.
I wonder if this bios will work for the X5460? Thinking about retiring my Duo and upgrading this P5B Deluxe to a Xeon Quad. They are only $14 these days.
Should works. This mod has needed microcode.
But you can use
alternative BIOS by IdeaFix.
But
X5460 has high TDP=120 W! It can be the problem.
