Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to unlock anything in this portugese branded laptop Tsunami Walker 545M (PL5C AL-096) with a Phoenix BIOS ver. Q3B71. I'd wish to overclock from BIOS but it has very few options.

Thank you in advance! Smile

Edit: Here is the ROM I extracted from the Universal Bios Backup tool: PhoenixTechnologiesLTD-Q3B71.rom (14.3 MB)
I need access to advanced settings and SATA AHCI unlock and other things.

Manufacturor: Packard Bell
Model: EasyNote MZ35/36
BIOS type: Phoenix

Thank you!

Hello Furknand,

I will take a look at your BIOS image for what can be unlocked.

Okey, I'm waiting.

Thanks!
Hello Furknand,

Your BIOS image is full of settings that I have never even seen before! For example, "GFX Overclocking".

I am going to have to dig around a bit to see where the settings should go. As I am performing a very full unlock, this may take a few days.

Here is my current progress (I could not even fit the whole menu on my screen!): [attachment=7077]

I'm very excited! Smile

Thank you very much!
Hello Furknand,

I think that I have finalized the BIOS mod. I have attached pictures of the 3 BIOS menus that I modded/moved.

I will post the modified BIOS image tomorrow after I have verified my edits to be safe.
Hello Furknand,

Your modified BIOS image is at the bottom of this post!

You may need to rename the BIOS file to "bios.wph" before flashing.

Your BIOS image was emptier than even my notebook's was before modding (and that is saying something!).

Summary of edits:
• Moved the Info Menu to the front as I made it take the role of a typical Main Menu
• Performed a Main Menu customization mod on the Info Menu
• Placed a gigantic number of settings into the Main Menu
• Placed a large number of settings into the Advanced Menu

Generic Warnings/Disclaimers:
Quote:Please remember to take proper precautions when flashing your BIOS. Even if the image is safe, the flashing process can still fail. Make sure that (if applicable) your notebook is fully charged (100%), the power plug is properly connected, and that the chance of the power going out is as minimal as possible. Do not interrupt the flashing process. If possible, it is a good idea to have a working CRISIS recovery disk when messing with your BIOS. Use the flashing instructions for your particular computer brand. DO NOT DO ANYTHING UNNECESSARY!!!

I take absolutely NO responsibility for ANY damages that may occur to you, your computer, your personal belongings, your neighbor's cat, or any other personnel or equipment as a direct or indirect result/consequence of your, or any one else's, use or misuse of any of the files that are in this archive at the present or at any time in the past or the future. You assume full responsibility for any damages or inconveniences that may occur by choosing to flash, or otherwise use or misuse, this image or any of the other files within this archive.

Have fun! Smile

Please remember to post the results of the BIOS flash.
