I read, that the BIOS would support these... But i got "Unsupported CPU. System Halted"...

what can I do? Have the newest BIOS

Hate to bump an old thread, but I know the answer to this one.  The 755 USFF doesn't support quad-core processors, even ones that work with the other form factors (SFF, etc) in the 755 lineup.  This is unlike the 745 which can support quad cores.  This is even with the factory bios.

Post a screenshots third (Mainboard) tab of CPU-Z with supported CPU.
Tell sSpec of your quad-core processor.
Show a photo of the screen with error "Unsupported CPU".

I tried this with a q9400 (and later that day installed it in another system so I don't have the sspec right now) as well as a q8300 slgur on the stock latest dell bios (a22 I believe).  Again this is for the 745 USFF, and is actually well documented limitation on the dell forums:

Oh, I'm not needing any help.  I was just explaining to the last poster why quad-core xeons will never work on the Dell 755 USFF, and wanted to post here for people like myself that ran into this thread when trying to find out why or if there is a bios mod that can get around the limitation.

Does this include the E5420 and X5355?

Yes, Q35 doesn't support both of them.

I will buy an Optiplex 380 then.
