If someone could please unlock this for me, I would GREATLY appreciate it. I've been following this site for the past year+ in the hopes that there would be an unlock for my BIOS so I can replace the absolutely dreadful ralink wifi card with a decent intel one, and possibly some other things such as a CPU upgrade or an overclock.

My laptop is a Pavilion DV7 6b56nr and it was released in 2011.

The BIOS version is F.1C, link http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp60501-61000/sp60717.exe

If needed, here are some older BIOS links: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/previ...29&sw_lang=

I will post a screenshot of the BIOS if needed shortly. Again, thanks so much.

I too have an HP Pavilion dv7-6b56nr, just tried installing an Intel 7260 802.11ac, no boot. Will try an 724935-001 HP Broadcom 4352 802.11ac next but will probably need new bios as well. Bios reads as Hewlett=Packard F.17. Computer savy 2 out of 10 so will be difficult for my 67yo brain. Hope someone takes pity on us and directs us to new bios. = Jim Confused
