Hi guys,

I'm trying to add screen brightness in Acer Aspire 9420 DSDT but failed. I was able to make the "Adjust Screen Brightness" menu showed in Power Options. It even detect when power cord is plug-in & when on battery (the slider change according to profile I set). But the screen brightness didn't change. FYI, I tested it with Windows 7 Ultimate. I copied the code from Dell Studio 1557 DSDT.

This is my modified BIOS image:-

If anyone have any idea what I'm missing, please share with me. Big Grin

some of these came with vista, have you tried the vista drivers? I'm just thinking out load, but if the acpi/dsdt is compatible with vista it should work with windows 7.

My dell don't have this function either with preloaded BIOS. It only available after new BIOS update applied to it. So I'm thinking it is possible to add this function to my acer. I will refer to ACPI manual again to see what I'm missing.

@1234s282 & @'banana19,
Thank you to both of you for your reply.
