Check your bios first - have you got any overclocking options? Will it let you change the multiplier or FSB manually?

This persons not-so-good grasp on the English language has made this even more confusing - I cannot get much out of that post!

OK , more information

Can you see Cell Menu in your BIOS? this option appears in Modbin as not hidden so you should be able to see it. There is an option in this menu of your bios to adjust the CPU Ratio. Use the + and - keys to change (If it will let you). Set it on 23 , save changes and reboot to see what processor speed appears now!

If you cannot see this menu , try pressing Ctrl Home , Ctrl F1 or Ctrl F9 while in the BIOS. Some motherboard require one of these key combos to display advanced options.

Theres quite a lot hidden in this bios , ive uploaded a unlocked version below , try it at your own risk though!

Hey,

Loaded the unlocked bios, could not access any additional functions using CTRL-HOME, CTRL-F1, CTRL-F9 in the main cell menu.
The only option in the cell menu is to adjust CPU/AGP/PCI and even at the max setting 153/76/38 i only can get 1.83 ghz.

Maybe there is something i missed.... I went thru every menu in the bios, more than once.

Can the option to adjust the VCORE be unlocked or added??
Or can the multiplier option be unlocked to be visble the clock is right @ 133 but the multiplier needs to be 23,24 ??? not 12.

Let me know what you guys think, is there anyway to modify bios so it sees the chip as a 3.2 vs 1.6ghz
I used to have my 3.0ghz P4 Desktop version in this rig and it ran great. ???

Thanks, Brian
Advanced Bios Features >> CPU Feature

Try changing TM2 Bus Ratio to 24 if you can

also , you can adjust Voltage in this menu (TM2 Bus VID)

Multiplier cannot be unlocked as this isnt an Intel Extreme chip (Only Intel Extreme Edition CPUs come with an unlocked multiplier)

There should be 6 editable options on the Cell Menu - Please take some pictures of each screen in your BIOS Big Grin

Also , the max setting available in your BIOS to change CPU/AGP/PCI is actually 240/80/40 so i dont know why you cant get these options!

See Pictures....

Is there anyway to access menus other than CTRL-F1, F9 or Home ???

Thanks, Brian

Hey,

I did some research.....
TM2 Bus Ratio & TM2 Bus VID are only available
under Thermal Function 2, im stuck on Thermal Function 1 and it does not allow me to change as it is grayed out under CPU Feature, thermal management. See pics from before.

Thanks, Brian
Please re-download the mod using the same download link , ive edited the unlocked version to set the defaults for CPU/AGP/PCI to 240/80/40 and set both defaults for TM2 Bus Ratio and Adjust CPU Ratio (which is unlocked but you cant see it!) to 24

good luck!

Admin
I redownloaded the modified bios from the link in your post above, and still no luck???

Thanks, Brian

found this somewhere
" The P4-M has multiple multipliers for power savings features, and automatically uses the LOWEST one when installed in a Desktop board. "

no way to fix it other then pushing up the bus speed.
