Hi I was wondering whether the bios mod I found on this website has intel mirco code for the E5450 built in.

Could someone more knowledgeable then me check that I would really appreciate that.

I already ordered a E5450.

Hi

This BIOS mod already contains the 10676 CPU microcode which is what is required for the E5450 , so I'd say it should work. Let us know when you receive the processor

Thank you for the quick response.

I will post a update when I have installed the E5450.
Today i received the E5450 i installed it, both the bios and Windows 8 detects the CPU as a E5450.
But at start up am getting this message "Unknown CPU detected, Bios Update is Required to Unleash it's Full Power"
The CPU seems to run fine and fast. Is there anyway to remove this message ?

I already tried to do another bios update with the same bios rom. Maybe there is another p5k se/epu bios rom with E5450 mirco code ?
Could someone perhaps mod the official bios rom with the Intel E5450 microcode ?

Got a private message from genius239. I tried his bios that i found on his website http://genius239239.myweb.hinet.net/771/.

And it worked !

Thank you genius239
Hi. I have the same scenario as Franzo here, an ASUS P5K SE/EPU board and a Xeon E5450 CPU. I tried both, the bios-mods one and the one from genius' website. Both will get the mobo to recognize the cpu correctly but cpu fan remains at 100%. I flashed it using the built-in EZFlash software as the DOS/AFUDOS method didn't work, got the "BIOS doesn't support AFU" message.
Am I doing something wrong?
Did you set all settings in BIOS to default (Load Setup Defaults)?
I did, I did a full reset with the jumper and via the bios itself. Temperatures seem to be read incorrectly as it reads +65 degrees celsius in bios. Will try to see with another cpu if the fan itself is going crazy.
