I would be more than glad if i could just enable AHCI in the Laptop so that i could install the mac os x on it.As of now when i check ide controllers list in device manager ,it shows it to be intel SATA ahci controller(which i guess means that RAID is enabled).
PLS HELP cause i badly wanted to enable ahci in the Laptop but i was not aware of the bios in hp.
PLS HELP ME OUT GUYS.I really wanted the mac os to work on my laptop
Hello, reubenvarghese1!
I looked in BIOS rom and found hidden option for AHCI.
"Setting: Chipset SATA Mode, Variable: 0x39
Option: IDE, Value: 0x0
Option: AHCI, Value: 0x1 (default)
Option: RAID, Value: 0x2"
As we can see, your Intel Ahci controller can work in 3 modes.Ahci mode is current but if it's wrong please post a screenshot of Main tab Bios Menu.
There are 4 bios in sp69899. I decrypted 0220F.fd and found AHCI settings above. You must discover what is bios of 4 yours. If your Intel controller really works in differ from AHCI-mode you may lose a guarantee for you laptop because modded bios can be flashed only with HW SPI Programmer (ask this request in laptop services)

I too feel AHCI is installed but I needed confirmation from an expert as I don't know how to do what u did and I also know my BIOS is RSA signed so it would have made things a lot tougher if I had to unlock it just for changing SATA mode.
.Actually the bios should at least display the sata mode like in most laptops even if they don't give an option to change it but...
.Thanks a lot for the info,I will try flashing mac os x
EDIT:i was just tying to learn to extract rom file from bios using cmd(writeromfile command) and that's when it mentioned 0220F.fd and that .exe file is what I have used as my bios so I guess it is indeed in AHCI mode so that gives me a lot of relief .
