Bios_tools12 bombs out when itry to run it.
This laptop has a windows 7 trail version that i didn't install all drivers.

The universal tool gereates the rom file though.

Does Bios_tools12 offere something extra, maybe i could run it from a lower os level ?
it seems AMIDE2W.exe is crashing.
Ok mate,
as I promised You can use all these tools to unlock your AMI Aptio Bios :

http://rghost.net/84ykVMXch

You can use AfuWin to flah your Bios Mod :

AfuWin Save buttonAfuWin BIOS read operation

Then click on “Open” button and select the ROM with the name as your BIOS version.
DO NOT SELECT THE WRONG FILE, YOU COULD BRICK!
Then check “Do Not Check ROM ID” and “Restart After Programming” and press Flash.
Click on “Ok” when AfuWin asks if you want to continue and wait until the flash is done.
Your PC will reboot and you should see a new logo!
Press immediately F2 to enter BIOS options, go to “Exit” and select “Load Default Values” and then “Shutdown”.
Power on your laptop and check if all is working good!
If you have any trouble you can reflash the backup ROM you made before.
Here there are Tutorial and Guide to modify your Bios :

Follow CodeRush Suggestions :

It's certanly not so easy for BIOSes with another menu setup, but the whole idea is the same.
I could also recommend trying AMIBCP to modify menu entries vilibility from "Default" to "USER",
if your menu setup is more complex then a setup above.

I have to flash my image on the administrator commandline using afuwinx64 bios_mod.rom /GAN . . .
Otherwise it gives me a security error (Thanks again CodeRush)

Just use this version corrected of your Bios Backup (your is too long so bad size and get a Brick) :

P.S. Donate to e for my work and time . . . look into my Signature Wink
i checked my bios save file using bcp, and from what I can tell, the setting i was looking to change is already enabled, so I now need to investigate why it won't do what i want, which is to install osx.
Let me know
Regards
Just so i'm not barking up the wrong tree, could you take a look at that dump file and confirm AHCI mode is enabled
Looking at the rom file using BCP (again).
I see two additional options which I can't see in bios.
These are the second Advanced option and Chipset option.

If I drill down inside these, I don't see any reason why they would be disabled.
