Is it possible to unlock menus in this bios? The chipset should support sata2 but there's no option to select AHCi or IDE, also there are probably hidden submenus.

I am using this bios in a U50SI1 mb based laptop.

No one? in the strings section I found this:

'This Option provide ', 0Dh, 'user can be change ', 0Dh, 'device ID operation', 0Dh, 'mode by this option.', 0Dh, 0Dh, 'NOTICE:', 0Dh, 'Some mode must be ', 0Dh, 'Hardware Layer Out', 0Dh, 'supported.', 0Dh, 'Device ID List:', 0Dh, '5513 (IDE) 2P2S', 0Dh, '1180 (IDE) 2P2S', 0Dh, '1182 (RAID) 4S', 0Dh, '1183 (IDE) 4S', 0Dh, '1184 (RAID) 2S', 0Dh, '1185 (AHCI) 2S'

I think related to 'IDE PATA+SATA ID Control'

AHCI is mentioned, the chipset should support the mode
I was able to add the 'IDE PATA+SATA ID Control' menu to bios.

However if I set the IDE + AHCI (5513+1185) the bios resets to 5513+1183 ( IDE + IDE ).
I made a version with default values set to IDE + AHCI but nothing changes, bios resets to IDE + IDE.

The chipset is 672m + 968 which should support AHCI...

The bios I am working on is Phoenix, I was able to add a "PATA+SATA id control" menu to the bios.
This menu let's you select the PATA SATA pair for chipset sis 968, no matter what one selects, the bios reverts to 5513+1183 after saving and exiting, this means IDE + SATA in ide emulation mode.
AFAIK the 968 chipset is perfectly able of RAID and AHCI however maybe this menu I added doesn't really change anything in the bios.
I was wondering maybe there's a way to set the correct pair by hardcoding it in the bios with an hex editor, some bits maybe, hence forcing the IDE+SATA AHCI or IDE+SATA RAID mode.
Does anyone have an idea? Is it an option rom problem? I saw there are RAID and AHCI option roms for Phoenix, could this be the problem? Adding the rom?

Hmm I extracted a SIS RAID option rom from an AMI bios and inserted it in the bios, build it and flashed but still no RAID nor AHCI available.
Here's modded bios with RAID rom inserted. Any clue?

On another note, with this modded bios I was able to access the FSB speed pair menu and was able to upgrade from 1GB to 2GB ram using an Hynix pc2-6400 800mhz module. The module works only if you set the FSB to 800+667 from AUTO. Another pc2-5300 667mhz module by kingston doesn't work at all.

Here's cpuz screen regarding ram, it's running at 667mhz of course (333x2)

the MB is an uniwill / ECS U50SI1

Hi,
I would like to unlock all options of the BIOS.

The BIOS is from here.

There was a mod some time ago but the file (and probably also the user has gone).
