Give me a link to BIOS for mod.
Did you try to boot you system with L5420 without BIOS mod?

Yes, I tried. I got a message "The microcode doesn't loaded" or something like that. I press F1, but system restarts.  I put back the original E2200 CPU temporaliry.

The system doesn't restart with the Xeon L5420, sorry for the wrong information, but doesn't recognize the microcode.

Good news!
Please run flasher (BIOFLASH.EXE) with key /p6()
If all will be OK then create new dump of BIOS.

What have I do with bioflash exactly?
Boot the system with the Flash-BIOS diskette inserted .
Abort the normal Flash BIOS update by answering the question about
whether you want to perform the update.
Press n.
Press the Enter key.
To carry out the Flash BIOS update for the processor, enter:
bioflash /p6()
Press the Enter key.
If error is occurred try
bioflash /p6
Press the Enter key.
Here there are files :

To get Original Bios :

Diff = 0x80 + 1 byte at eof

So It need to remove 0x80h bytes 0xFFh pattern from :

0x000001A0h to 0x00000220h (0xFFh type)

Remove last Byte 0xF7h too !

I cannot open by PMT or PBE gave both errors !

Let me know if You can open It working I will try using pbe 2.2.6.0 . . .
BDMaster
