Morning.
Last month I got stuck on the motherboard's splash screen. I sent the mobo to a technician who removed the bios chip, "reflashed it" and soldered it back on the board.
After that, I no longer can update my BIOS firmware. I get the "BIOS ID check error".
What does it mean? Is it possible to check the integrity of the fw?

My AV wont allow me to run any of the backup tools, so I used the QFLASH to save the BIOS to a drive, but I'm not sure if it will work for u.
Thanks!
You can use AFUDos or AFUWin to make a Backup, but We have to find the
way to reflash the Bios using FPT too !
I will give a look and reply !

Ok mate,
There are two MoBo
1. H97-Gaming-3 TAG ID 8A06AG0S
2. H97M-Gaming-3 TAG ID 8A06AG0Y
Now your Bios Backup has this one H97-Gaming-3 TAG ID 8A06AG0S
but You wrote that your MoBo is this one H97M-Gaming-3 !
So It seems that service used the bad version (They are similar) and now on
check It fails to update Bios !
Regards
P.S. which is really your MoBo ? as you pointed me here

H97-Gaming-3 updateing . . .
Hi, mate!
Thanks for the reply!
I accidently gave u the link for the wrong mobo, but I used this one
http://br.gigabyte.com/products/product-...id=5000#ov. Couldn't flash it anyways.
I didn't send u this link because it was in portuguese, so I looked for the english one to post here, but I made a mistake.
Yes, they made it wrong. My mobo is the H97M-Gaming 3 (the smaller one, made in Brazil), and they flashed the 8A06AG0S bios (for the H97-Gaming 3 mobo).
Is there a way to fix it by myself or should I bring it back to them?
PS.: I've attached two pics: one showing which BIOS was flashed into my board and the other one showing which one is my board.
Thanks!
Ok mate,
We can try so 1st thing to do is replace into your Bios Backup the wrong ID with right one !
Here You go :
http://rghost.net/6Z7BnMWwC
Then You have to use AFUDos 2.38 to reflash It back :
http://rghost.net/private/7pnsyLvlT/b274...14730515f4
afudos . . . read into file as censored !
I suggest to flash before the Backup Patched to fix the NVRAM area as when
You will flash the good one Your PC will report Always the bad ID, then flash
an Original Bios GB H97M Gaming 3.
Let me know
Regards
It worked great. Could you teach how to do the patch?
Here's a pic of the BIOS now.
Hi mate,
You can use an HexEditor like HxD then open the Bios Backup and find all
occurences about 8A06AG0S and replace (the HxD do by itself) with 8A06AG0Y
then save and that's It
Just easy and quick then like the ID was corrected the Update did It !
