Hi,

Could you see if you can remove the whitelist for WWAN from the attached bios?

Vendor: Fujitsu T732, non-VPro
BIOS: Phoenix Securecore Tiano

Current device: none (unit is "WWAN ready", but no card included) - working card is a MC8355:
USB\VID_1199&PID_9015&MI_05 or USB\VID_1199&PID_9015&REV_0002&MI_05

New device: various (MC7700 Sierra Wireless is the primary), should be USB\VID_1199&PID_68A2 but would be great if you could just get rid of the WL!

Bios File: (includes original and extracted) attached and also at https://www.dropbox.com/s/ybsyralz5eazk9...d.rar?dl=0

It'd be great if you could just remove the whitelisting overall so that any card could be used!

Thanks!

Here they are... UBB doesn't run, reports "Can not identify the BIOS!", even when run as Admin and with Win 7/8 compatibility.

Can You say which Error You got changing the WiFi Card ?
Which is new PCI / VEN WiFi Card ?
Regards
It's not the Wifi, there's not a whitelist on WLAN. The problem is that the WWAN cards are blocked unless you have the old, 3G card.

The old, but working (Fujitsu OEM approved) card's ID is: Sierra Wireless MC8355, USB\VID_1199&PID_9015&REV_0002&MI_05
The other hardware ID for it is: USB\VID_1199&PID_9015&MI_05.

The new card that needs to go into it is a Sierra Wireless MC7700, USB\VID_1199&PID_68A2.

There's no error that occurs on the Fujitsu laptops (unlike the HP or Lenovo BIOS warning). These laptops will just not show the WWAN Card option in the BIOS Config screen and not pass the HWID to Windows.

I had a T731 in the past and it's BIOS was modded to work with this MC7700 card - it was a Securecore Tiano also (but not UEFI). Once I installed the updated bios, it immediately showed the "WWAN Card" option in the BIOS configuration.

Would it be easier to just unlock the feature in the BIOS menu, or would the whitelist still prevent the card from loading?
BTW, I did find a DOS flash version for the BIOS on the Fujitsu UK website. But, it's for the VPro version (QM77) instead of this version (HM77). There isn't one for the non-VPro.
Ok mate,
Please if You have files about T731 too then upload them as I will look if The Modder replaced
just the ID or there are different Patches.
Then Upload the BIOS on the Fujitsu UK website.
But, it's for the VPro version (QM77) instead of this version (HM77). There isn't one for the non-VPro
as it's doesn't matter I would to see if there is a way to frlash from DOS too !
Let me know
Regards

P.S. Replace the ID is easy but i don't know if It will be resolutive !
Look the tricks Pin #20 and #51 too :

Thanks, man,

The pin trick doesn't work on Fujitsu's for some reason, they still won't get the HWID to the system so it'll be detected! Taping pin 51 results in the same outcome as no card in the slot...

Here's a package with the old & modded T731 BIOS (had to dig those out!) and the T732 non-VPro (HM76/77) with the UK T732 vPro (QM77) package: https://www.sendspace.com/file/ser8rz

I think the BIOS for the T731 was an ID substitution and it worked just fine, showing the WWAN card in both BIOS and Windows.
Thanks!
Ok mate,
I will give a look !
