Revision B3 of H61 supports Ivy Bridge. But BIOS of HP Pro 3500 have size 8 Mbytes. So I need to know a real size of your BIOS chip.
well getting in there was very freakin hard Smile
but hey got to see what was written down, but this is gettin pretty hard on me just throw your conclusion because this is getting quit annoying Smile

MX10MA
25L326E
M2I-12G
3J839700
L120176

now i couldnt get a a clear picture, i didnt really know what you wanted to find out, is there a way you can tell a bio's size from an image?
It's MXIC MX 25L3206E M2I-12G, SOIC-8, 32MBit, 4Mb SPI Flash. So you can't flash 8 Mb BIOS.
But due the advice of LS_29 you can try update version of ME from 7.x to 8.x and then add microcodes for Ivy Bridge. For example, ME 8.1.20.1336. But you need flash first ME 8.0.0.x!
wow hold on a bit please give me the exact bios i should flash first then the next one i dont want to bow my pc up
i know you said recovery and all but really il need pretty solid resons to do this Smile what can this bios add up, because even if i dont get the cpu support at least will it make my pc stop beeping 3 times before deciding to go to OS (GTX 750 not offialy supported)
well il look it up. when i fix it il comeback to you someday
but theres a possibility that i just buy a new desktop pc

nerver the less...i thank you for taking all your time trying to help me and other people who own this (cursed PC) Smile

thanks man.
Hi, have HP 3400 MT (H61 Chipset) with 4mb bios chip which doesn't support my i7 3770.
Programmed a 8mb chip from my laptop with ROM of HP 3500 MT (CU3_814.ROM),
replaced it with the 4mb bios of my HP 3400 and it supported my processor.
My question is, would you be able to reduce / shrink a 8mb bios ROM file to 4mb
so that i can reprogram the 4mb chip?

HP 3500 MT 8mb bios ROM (CU3_814.ROM) link http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/publi...id=5270811&swItemId=vc_115068_1&swEnvOid=4059

Need it to be 4mb.

(Don't have and can't access a 8mb chip at the moment)
Only available is 4mb

Thanks in advance
Post screenshots of first (CPU) & third (Mainboard) tabs of CPU-Z with native CPU.
When you will get access a 8mb chip again? What is your laptop form BIOS chip was taken? What's your chip's programmer?
Make & post a good photo of the native BIOS chip.
I do it over programmer...
1) Remove winbond 25q32 ;
2) buy or find from any memory at 8mbytes w25q64 or same from another firm
3) write firmware from h-cupertino-h61-uatx 3.10  to w25q64 chip
4) solder w25q64 to motherboard...
Ivy Bridge worked! (i3-3470 for me) / but after i have problem with boot source and choise boot for load OS,maybe need change me region too?
Nice news!
Do you make Load Defaults in BIOS?
Your dump has ME version 8.1.40.1416
You can flash the latest Intel ME 8 1.5MB Firmware v8.1.65.1586
P.S. I edited some post for readability.
Hey there, Actually I'd like to change my processor to an I7-3770 but my mobo is ans old one who support Sandy Bridge. After some research I found out that with an BIOS update we could make this compatible however I also found that my mobo was an OEM one from HP and that they did not support Ivy Bridge.

My motherboard is : Foxconn 2abf OR H-CUPERTINO2-H61 (OEM one)
BIOS : AMI 7.16, 23/03/2012
