Hi there.

I was working on a Dm4-3055dx computer and looks like the BIOS crashed. So I went to HP website but the file .bin is bigger than 4mb and I can't reflash it in a external mode.

I've tried use the keys 'windows + b' but the restore bios screen don't show up.

So I ask you guys to help me if you can, please. It's very important to me. Confused

Thanks.
Hello, hasland!
Are you sure your bios crashed?Do you see blinking Caps Lock and Num Lock when laptop starts??Bios crashing is not reason for all laptop malfunctions.
Possible reasons are:
-bios chip not active;
-North bridge HM55-HM70.
Bring your machine to laptop service, technician will diagnosting then tell result.
Good Luck!!

Hello, thanks for asking.
Answering your question, I am pretty sure that the problem is in the BIOS. I already tried with other BIOS, but not the original one.
And I work on a computer repairs store. I am asking for it because I couldn't find the right one (with 4mb).

I hope you guys can help me. Smile

Hi!
Here it is, 2 files:
hpdm4_3055dx.rar is the one that we've got from the crashed BIOS chip;
01793.rar is the one that was in the hard disk, at Hewlett-Packard\BIOS\Current.

If anything else is needed, just ask.
Thank you for helping us.

We tried. Didn't work.
After we saved it and put it back in the motherboard, the message "Flashing boot block" showed up and went to 100%. Then, the notbook restarted itself and nothing showed up in the screen. After some reboots, the message in the image showed up. We click the Enter key but then the screen goes black again and nothing happens.  Sad

Any ideia of whats happening? One of my corworker said that could be the other BIOS, that is 512KB, not 4MB. But it's just a thought.
I saw that your old Bios is version F.00 and the Firmware broken You sent me
is version F.08 so it bricked during the F.08 version !
I will try to rebuild the version F.08 Pure without DMI Data and upload It here !
Wait a bit please . . .
