With the jmicron and marvell drivers, how do you install those on Windows 7? I do not see specifically those listed in the device manager and the inf files don't install by right click > install?

did you read?... drivers are linked at bottom of post #1.
Yes I read smart response. I wasn't asking where the drivers are, but where the jmicron hardware is in the device manager to select it and update the driver.

I've moved on from Windows 7 so no need to respond to that however and am on Windows 8.1 now. That said, bought a Samsung 870 EVO SSD and plugged it into the 6 gb port as even though intel is supposed to be more stable, it has to run slower with this kind of drive. Is this expected with with CrystalDiskMark in MB/s and 1GiB selected for the run?

Sorry I misunderstood you.  Glad you got it sorted.
I have not run Windows on my R3E in some time.  But I believe the device appears under "Storage Controllers".
I always use ATTO benchmark for HDD.  You will have to google CrystalMark settings.
Test that SSD on the Intel controller also. I found the Marvell always choked my SSD speeds. Your drive/controller may behave differently.
Due to silicon lottery, there may be better performing Marvell controller chips on some boards out there.

Please re-upload the file R3E_1601_S23.7z and R3E_1601_S23o.7z
Preferably in *.rar archive.
Some files cannot pass the checksum check when flashed. Although the archive has been downloaded and tested without errors. Can you fix it? For example, all files from the R3E_1601_S22.rar archive are flashed without errors ...
Hi @Pir8man,

Are there any plans for integrating UEFI for the bios? After I updated to your modded bios successfully, F8 Key (entering boot menu, before windows loads) and device boot priority (always boots to internal SSD first no matter what I select) is not working anymore. Can someone else confirm this?
Hi all. I just found this topic and how I regret that I did not find it 5 years ago ...
I'm still using R3E and want to try updating the bios with your rom.
I don't understand which one should I use?
x5650
20gb cheap ram
rtx 2060
win 10
1 ssd sata 3
1 hdd sata 3
2 hdd sata 2
there are no raid. just hard drives for games.
so i need all sata ports to work
thanks for any of your answers

Flash Sxxi:
If you run Windows 10 and use INTEL SATA in AHCI mode.  Also for ANY other OS using either AHCI or RAID modes.
As no RST software compatibility needs to be overcome, it is best to run the proper ROM for our ICH10 chipset.  (fastest benchmarks with this ROM).

UEFI cannot be injected into a legacy BIOS.
though there is minimal UEFI support.. set all SATA ports to IDE and Windows installer should allow installation as UEFI/GPT setup.

The only other option is to build a UEFI-DUET usb boot stick that points to your UEFI hdd.

I discovered today this other solution:

Personally I am impressed with this achievement, what do you think? what is your opinion on this method?
