Thanks - details as per attached.[

Your
BIOS(F.65) has microcode for almost all CPUs with
Socket P.
Your motherboard is based on
GL40 chipset. It supports FSB=667Mhz and FSB=800Mhz(unofficially), dut doesn't support FSB=1066Mhz.
You can use
T5750 (SLA4D) without any problem. But the best CPU for your laptop is
T9500 or
T9300.
Thanks DeathBringer. This bios settings on this model laptop are very basic and there is no option to set the FSB (I think I will be limited to 667 FSB).
The T5750 will give me an extra 400mhz and double the cache compared to the T1600 I have now so I will be happy with that.
Thanks again
Adrian

No, someone successfully replace
T3200 to
T9300 (with FSB=800Mhz) in your laptop:

forhike's CG60 has PM45 chipset as opposed to my GL40. Does GL40 support penryn cpu's like T9300?

Thanks. I have just ordered a T9300 of eBay and will let you know how I go. Just want to confirm that the GL40 chipset will only support a max of 4GB ram as I want to order some ddr2-800 modules?
