Hello all!
If you have set FSB to 800 Mhz , you must change modules RAM to 800 Mhz also (i suppose your current modules have 667 Mhz). Intel Hub Architecture projected so you must have RAM speed and FSB are same values.
Amd platforms may have FSB 800 Mhz and RAM 667 Mhz.
Think about it.
Regards.

Nice to have but not necessary.

I am going to replace my current DDR2-667 with DDR2-800 modules so that i have stable 1:1 ratio with CPU FSB
Quick update- I have successfully upgraded my CPU to a T9300 and it is working fine at FSB 800Mhz. I also upgraded my ram to DDR2-800 modules but my ram is only running at DDR2-667. Is this a limitation of the GL40 chipset or can the BIOS be modded to make this work?
Post screenshots of (Memory) & (SPD) tabs for each slot of memory.
Hi to everybody,
just looking to update the CPU of an old laptop "HP Compaq Presario CQ60-201EL".

Thinking about a core 2 duo T9300 or T9500 (with FSB 800mhz), but i don't know if my actual bios (version F.33) would support them, so if i may need 1st to upgrade the firmware and than procede with the new cpu.

Unfortunately i can't find online the last Official bios version which was eventually released by HP years ago.

Can somebody pelase help me?

Thanks in advance.

"DeathBringer", Thanks so much for the bios file.

Just one question, the file html associated with the exe you provided claims the latest windows which it can be executed is win 7. "http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp51001-51500/sp51485.html"

But days ago i already installed win10 64 bit, so i guess the exe will not be compatible with the os. Tried to run it on my win10 (this is not the presario cq60) and it fails after trying to decompress the file.

Do you think i can run the exe on a win 7 virtual machine to create a USB flash and than use it on the cq60, or in this way it would not going to work?

I still have the old cq60 hdd of that laptop but i would have to install Win7 all over again if its a must to create the usb flash, since it was the 1st try with win10 before installed a new ssd.

Tanks in advance.
Ask HP.
