Good news!
I've changed my i3-330M to i7-620M (SLBPD). So I don't need BIOS mod for my laptop anymore.
Hello,

I am looking for some microcode for my bios that will result in being able to run the i5 580m that i resently bought
the Toshiba satellite L500-1zp originally ships with an i3 330M

I need this upgrade since i dont have money for a new laptop and i am studying for IT network administrator (trying to get my certs in mcsa server 2012 etc)
Wil need to run lots of virtual machines and the current i3 330m just aint pulling it.

The Bios can be found at this link http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-file...145718.zip
Pheonix bios i believe.

I hope some one can help me with this issue!

If you need any more information let me know!

Thanks in advanced!
Sorry, but this laptop doesn't support Arrandale core stepping K0. Many people tried to add support K0 to its BIOS without success.
CPUs with Arrandale core stepping C2 (CPUID:20652) are supported only:
  1. i3-330M (SLBMD)
  2. i3-350M (SLBPK)
  3. i5-430M (SLBPN)
  4. i5-520M (SLBNB)
  5. i5-540M (SLBPG)
  6. i7-620M (SLBPD)
Ay okey so the only possible upgrade would be i7-620m

would this involve adding microcode or just plug and play?
Microcode for i7-620M (SLBPD, not SLBTQ) already in current BIOS.
Okey i know enough thank you for the info! im going to have to sell the i5 580m will hunt down a i7-620M (SLBPD)
Are u sure SLBTQ wil not work?
i just ordered the SLBPD from ebay but they send me the SLBTQ instead.
:/
I'm sure, many people have tried. My SLBPD works fine.
Arrghh!
Why this gotta be so annoying wasted like 60 euros already just trying to get a new cpu T-T

you wouldn't happen to have another i7 620m SLBPD laying around?
all the other i7 620m slbpd are like 110 euro+
