Hi!
I have a Lenovo x201i (model type 3626EZ4). I´m using this version of bios:
http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/...uj16us.exe

I need a mod bios, because I want to use an Ericsson F3507g modem.
Can somebody help me?
I would be glad to help but the bios link is broken.

Hello,

I'm making this request after looking for an already existing request, but with no success. It concerns a whitelist removal in order to make the laptop able to use an ericsson WWAN F5521GW, instead of a Qualcomm Gobi 2000 WWAN.

The bios download from the lenovo support :
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/download...D=DS013909
direct download link : http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/...uj19us.exe

The PCI ID of the qualcom gobi 2000 is the following :
USB\VID_05C6&PID_9204&REV_0002
USB\VID_05C6&PID_9204

I don't think the bios is RSA signed, as I wasn't able to open the files with the andy tool. The uncompressed files don't seem to be crypted when looking at the names.

I gladly thank you for your support !

Look README to update. Please post results.
Hi, you were quick to answer, thanks a lot !
The laptop bios is flashed, and working correctly. I will update this post when I receive a new ericsson WWAN, as my first attempt was to flash the firmware and bricked one.

Found this forum later
I tested this for my Atheros 9580 minipcie card, but it's not recognised by the BIOS.

Interestingly enough, it IS in fact recognised and works fine in my x200s board with this patched BIOS (which I cannot use for x201s):

any ideas?
Hi, the laptop doesn't even boot with the ericsson F5521GW plugged in. I can't access the bios also.
I'll try to set the default settings before plugging the ericsson card.

Hi, I've made some more tries.

Once the ericsson card is plugged, the laptop starts and "stays" on the thinkpad vantage screen. I can't access the bios during that state, which runs for 1 minute or more. The laptops responds after that delay, then allows to boot normally. I'm running a Linux debian distro, and managed to flash the bios under a windows seven environment. Once the laptop has started, and the gnome desktop environment is loaded, the ericsson card is correctly recognized.

Do you have some tips in order to help me investigate, or do you know a way to improve the bios booting time and access please?

Best regards
