Hello, i have an hp g62-b82ep, that i flashed a modded bios (this one).
This bios is known to semibrick, i wasnt aware of it, so i flashed it.
It's ok, recover would fix it.. But i can't do it. I must be doing something wrong.
When i remove the CMOS battery this happen.
Ive tried to create HP_TOOLS partition on an usb, on the hard drive it self.
It's a signed bios so im using phoenix to decrypt it and im placing the bios in x:\HEWLETT-PACKARD\BIOS\Current as its supposed.
Tried 2 versions of the bios. F.35 Rev. A and F.48(same version as the modded one).
I've used the hp tool to create the usb/hdd, the label is named HP_TOOLS but i can't get it to boot the recovery tool.
I'm using Win + B combination, also tried the 4 arrows.
Nothing. What am i doing wrong? If it were an hardware issue, i shouldn't get the CMOS Checksum Error when i remove the battery, right?
If someone could help i would be thankful, and if i get it to work i will pay for the time wasted with me! Thanks
Should i be using FAT16? Been trying with FAT32 only.
I've solved the issue.
Not sure what made the difference.
USB formatted in FAT16
bios and sign in Current, Previous, New and root folder.
Win + B til it shows the recovery menu(not just when clicking the power).
Thanks anyway bio-mods community.

What file name did you use for the .bin/sig file?
