Thank you, I'll let you know what happened as soon as I get some time to reinstall Windows and do the flashing on that one. Hopefully in the next couple of days.

I've finally tried to flash it, and ended up with the message "Security verification failed" from the EZ-Flash utility and "Security verification failed in the file." using ASUSTek BIOS Updater for DOS v1.30

So, I did some googling and gave it a try myself. Result?

Working BIOS file with SLIC 2.1 inside. Tried on the PC I have here, didn't brick anything and then successfully activated Win 7 with later upgrade to Windows 10. All works.
