i want to upgrade my hp g6 1048se which has an i3 380m cpu to an i7 640m and i wanted to know if such upgrade is possible and if it needs a modded bios to work before i buy the cpu
thanks ahead
i also found the service manual for the laptop but i couldnt find much details regarding my specific variant as it uses an hm55 chipset and the rest of the variants mentioned uses hm65

i3-380M and i7-640M use the same microcode. Modded BIOS isn't needed.
