Hello, i'm Mauro from Italy, and sorry for my not good english.
I've a problem. My Dell (XPS L501X with i7, BIOS Phoenix A08) tells me that my AC adpter is inknown (it' the original one and new). So the battery is not charging due to a Dell security decision
So i want to try to unlock my BIOS and tell him tha AC adapter is 130W and it's all ok. Could be a solution? Does the BIOS unlocked let me to do this operation?
I'm not able to find another good solution because other solution are:
- change the AC adapter (done);
- reset the BIOS to default (done);
- uninstall and reinstall the Win AC adapter drivers (done);
- take the ID chip from the AC adapter and installing it on the motherboard (i don't want to do it).
So could be a good try?
