I have been given this laptop and was after upgrading it. Already added ram, spare 120GB SSD went in...all good. Hoever none cpu other then factory won't work.
All it does is constantly flashing led on CapsLock.

Installed is AMD A4-3300M

Spare CPUs: AMD A6-3400M and A8-3500M

Both CPU's bought from reliable sellers so I'm sure at least one would work.

-bios link http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp62001-62500/sp62234.exe
-whats happens: It doesn't boot

HP Pavilion G6-1202sa
MB Model: 3566 (21.46)
Chipset K12
BIOS: INSYDE F.6A (linked)

Can any of you magicians help here?
A6-3400M is natively supported by this motherboard.
Look at HP Pavilion G6-1207sa specification.
It isn't BIOS problem.

Update: A8-3500M is supported too - look at HP Pavilion G6-1220sa specification.
I know it should be as those 3 CPU's have the same TDP, socket, core etc. But my A6 and A8 just won't go on it. I unpacked bios for this MB and found 3 different bin files. Did some research and it turns out its for different mainboard configurtions. 3 CPU's 3 bin files 3 configurations. But I could be wrong Smile

Is there any way to tell if it's locked to a certain CPU model?
G6-1207sa & G6-1220sa have 03564 F6A too.
BIOS isn't "locked to a certain CPU model".
I understand that what you are saying it's that it isn't a locked BIOS. those CPU's are simply dead.
